This has been on the top of our
entertainment wish-list. We didn’t get a Mohits reconciliation (though we’re
still waiting), but we sure have an EME mushy catch-up to do. Complete with all
the shoulder-hugs, back pats, and musical scenes.
Banky W and Wizkid are
back! Putting to rest a long saga of bitterness, speculations and the cesspool
of media volumes. Top artiste Ayo Wizkid Balogun, after loads
of reports linking him to a breakup, is now staying put with EME Music. Talk
about heart changing and love.
First the rumours steadily poured
in. Wizkid, on April 6, 2013, took a trip to Rep du Benin, in
company of EME colleagues Shaydee and Xclusive for
a bumper performance.
But then, it was not enough carrot for
all to rush into confirmation zone. But a clearer state of affairs was revealed
when Wizkid showed up, and gave a performance with Banky W, his label boss at a
recent Five Star Music Festival organized by KCEE,
another Pop sensation. Wizkid stunned the crowd by screaming out Banky’s name
which led to a tornado of applause.
…here in FESTAC and I love you guys so
much. Right now I wanna bring up my big brother, my fam, you know my
bestfriend, my business partner. Make some noise for Banky W!‘, Wizkid said on stage right before the
duo performed one of their duets ’Roll it’.
Business partner…not Boss.
Wizkid in February set up his own music
label Star Boy Entertainment and has gone on to sign his first act, a UK-based
producer named Maleek Berry.
‘It’s funny how you people said back,
it’s not like he ever left, I mean that’s for you guys to determine, so it’s
cool, whatever. it’s all love, it’s all family‘, EME label boss Banky W
told a Nigezie reporter.
So it’s confirmed. Quote us anywhere
(beats chest proudly), Banky and Wizzy Baby have officially resumed their
lyrical romance!
